Services

Compassionate support. Practical tools. Whole-family care.

At The Parents and Children Project, we believe that families deserve more than fragmented services. That’s why we offer integrated support—bringing together psychotherapy, educational advocacy, and parent coaching to create a one-stop hub for your family’s mental health, learning needs, and daily challenges.

We specialize in working with neurodiverse families, parents under stress, and those navigating life transitions, offering personalized care rooted in expertise, empathy, and trust.

Psychotherapy

Mental health support for families, parents, and children.

Whether you’re a parent struggling with burnout, a child facing anxiety or ADHD, or a family navigating grief, chronic illness, or postpartum mental health, our team of licensed therapists is here to help.

We offer:

  • Individual, family, and group therapy for children, adolescents, and adults
  • Specialized support for postpartum anxiety and depression, infertility, and infant loss
  • Expertise in trauma-informed care, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and mindfulness-based approaches
  • Neurodivergent-affirming therapy for autism, ADHD, and more
  • Help with transitions like divorce, college adjustment, and chronic illness

We’re not just clinicians—we’re collaborative partners in your family’s growth. And when mental health concerns intersect with school, physical health, or parenting challenges, we work alongside our coaches and advocates to provide wraparound family care.

Educational Advocacy

School support for children with disabilities, learning differences, and behavioral challenges.

School shouldn’t feel like a battle. If you’re trying to navigate the school system on your own, you don’t have to.

Our expert educational advocates help families understand, access, and secure the services their children need to thrive. Whether you’re new to 504/IEP plans or deep into a disciplinary process, we’ll guide you every step of the way.

We offer:

  • Comprehensive record reviews and evaluations of academic data
  • Expert feedback on IEPs, 504 plans, and educational accommodations
  • Guidance through special education laws, disability rights, and school advocacy
  • Support for parents asking:
    • “What’s going on at school?”
    • “Are my child’s needs being met?”
    • “Is this a school issue, a home issue—or both?”

This isn’t just paperwork—it’s about ensuring your child is seen, supported, and successful in their learning environment. When needed, our advocates work hand-in-hand with your therapist or parent coach for cohesive support.

Coaching

Real support for real parenting challenges—from people who understand families, not just theories.

Parenting doesn’t come with a manual, but it can come with a coach. Whether you’re overwhelmed, navigating special needs parenting, or looking for new tools, our trauma-informed parent coaching meets you where you are.

We offer two levels of individualized parent coaching:

Why Both Matter

We help you find the right level of support based on:

  • Your parenting challenges and goals
  • Any trauma, diagnosis, or school involvement
  • Your budget and availability

Some parents benefit from a BSW coach when they need:

  • Weekly check-ins
  • Help with school plans or transitions
  • Concrete, actionable strategies

Others prefer an LCSW coach when:

  • There’s trauma or burnout
  • Mental health concerns affect family life
  • Diagnoses complicate dynamics

Whether you’re parenting a neurodiverse child, struggling with co-occurring conditions, or just need an ally in your corner, our coaches provide respectful, collaborative support—grounded in developmentally appropriate practices and backed by a deep understanding of family systems.

Not sure where to start? We’ll help you decide which level of care is right for your family. Coaching is not therapy, but it can be a powerful complement.

What You Can Expect

No matter which service you begin with, your support team will be:

  • Trauma-informed
  • Developmentally aware
  • Family-centered and collaborative
  • Connected to a broader network of therapists, educators, and health professionals

We’re not here to “fix” your family. We’re here to partner with you so your family can thrive.

Our services aren’t siloed; we believe in whole-family, holistic support. That means your therapist, advocate, and coach can work together (when needed) to support your goals at home, in school, and beyond.

Because parenting shouldn’t be a solo sport, and neither should healing.
